Voice Thread

I think that voice thread is unique, but I would not use it in my lessons because it looks like it would take to much time to learn how to use it and teach students how to use it.

Publisher

I enjoyed doing the activities this week, because I think that you can give me feedback so that when I do my brochure for my classroom or resume for my job I will know what to do. I enjoyed doing the brochure because it gives me a chance to be creative and think of how I want my future brochure to look like. I am not sure by what you mean if there is any muddy view points that I need to review. I think that an activity we can do is create a brochure for our students that have useful tips for the subject that we are teaching. I plan to create a brochure for my students with helpful tips to help them through Algebra class.

PowerPoint Project

I haven't started putting my information on a powerpoint yet, but I have read some information for my project. The topic for my project is the role of technology in the classroom. I think that my partner knows how to do the assignment, but we have not started putting information on a powerpoint yet. I think that it can be helpful having a partner, because my partner can teach me how to do things that I do not know how to do. But I do thing it is hard to do a project with another person, because it is hard to know where to start if you do not know where your partner is going to start.

Week 7

When it comes to using technology in the classroom some times teachers can go to far. To me going to far with technology is when the students are not benefiting from it and when it takes too much time to show students how to use what it is that you are trying to use.

Online chats and instant messaging is probably not going to be useful in Elementary to High school classrooms, because there will be some students that will not discuss what they are suppose to be discussing in the chat room. In college it will probably be more useful, because majority of the time the students will stay on topic.

There are benefits to using asynchronous, and text-based communication over synchronous because if students have a question outside of class about how to do something than they can ask their classmates or the teacher. When using asynchronous, and text-based communication over synchronous students may also be able to receive immediate feedback. The benefits of face-to-face communication is that students are guaranteed immediate feedback.

I do not think podcasting can enhance a students learning any better than the teacher showing what the students are suppose to learn on the board or by looking at the material in a textbook. I think it may enhance a students learning far as how to podcast. I do think that using podcast can be helpful because if a student misses class then they can watch or listen to what they missed online.

I think that you can learn from video games. If the video game that is being played is educational than it can enhance a students learning, because the student that is playing the game is constantly doing something educational. The skills that students can gain will depend on the game that they are playing. I agree with the article because video games can improve a students ability to learn. If my son wanted to play video games all day I would not let him, because he would need to do his homework and am pretty sure by the time he hits the age of playing video games I will want him to help clean up around the house.
